Our Mission

Playhouse 1960, an all-volunteer non-profit community theatre, provides a place where performers are immersed in the craft of theatre in a creative, safe, and supportive environment.

Through both our Main Stage and Young Actors Productions we offer opportunities for people to work onstage and behind the scenes.  The Main Stage and Young Actors share the stage in repertory with our Young Actors performing matinees while our Main Stage performs in the evenings. These two branches of the Playhouse 1960 family strive for excellence as they perform for our audiences. Playhouse 1960 is an all-volunteer nonprofit community theatre that has been creating theatre since 1973.

Young Actors Theater

The Playhouse 1960 Young Actor’s Theater gives kids of all ages a chance to be seen on stage, whether it's their first time or if they are experienced actors. No prior experience is needed and auditions are held at regular intervals throughout the year. We also offer young actors a chance to see other children on stage by attending our performances. Tours and large groups are welcome by previous arrangement.
